I just want to share briefly about the path God has put me in the last 16 years of my life in the areas of Creative Ministry. That’s how long I’ve been walking with God. I was 17 at the time, living in Los Angeles, when he touched my life and turned it upside down.

For me, it’s boiled down to this: Worship is simply all of me for all of Him. It’s that simple. There are great theological definitions of worship, but a real simple one for me is this: all of me for all of Him. You will see that all through Scripture. There’s nothing in that definition about music, it’s just our whole life for God.

I didn’t pray God would make me a musician, I didn’t pray God would put me on a stage, I just wanted God to have all of me. That’s what worship is, that God would have all of you and that you’d live for His glory.

And God began to open up doors. For those of you who think you really want to get more into leading, traveling and playing, let me tell you — let God do it. Don’t look back on your life and say, “Well, I had a really good marketing plan, and I had a great web site, and that’s how it worked.” What you want to look back on your life and say is, “Wow, how in the world did this ever work? Only God can do that.”

Just be open to God and just have a heart that says, “God, all of me is for all of you,” and you never know what He will do.

Maybe you say of your ministry, “Well, I just do these little things, it’s not a big deal,” To God it is a big deal; it’s a really big deal. God doesn’t really care about the outside, he’s always looking at your heart. So know that if God can use someone like me—who can only play guitar in G, and shakes before singing–then what he’s really interested in is a heart that’s after Him and for Him. That’s what He’s going to use.

Narrowing your Focus
(based on the sermon by Ps. Sidney Mohede)

Dari awal Tuhan nyiptain kita, Dia ingin agar kita memiliki hidup yang rrruuaaarrrr biasa! Kenapa? Because we are worshipping the extraordinary God! Masa hidup kita “standard” aja? ngga ada bedanya dong sama yang ngga percaya Tuhan…
Hidup yang luar biasa tentunya ngga bisa kita dapetin dengan hidup ‘ngambang-ngambang’ aja. Because, when we live just to wonder around, we will end up at the place we don’t wanna be!
Hidup yang luar biasa bisa dibangun asal kita punya tujuan dan fokus.
Suka ngga suka, terima ngga terima, semakin dewasa hidup kita pasti tambah complicated. Tapi jangan salahin siapa-siapa! Karena sebagian besar ‘kerumitan’ yang terjadi di hidup kita tuh diakibatkan oleh ketidakmampuan kita dalam me-manage hidup kita. Kita tuh cenderung mencampur segala urusan dalam hidup kita jadi satu. Akibatnya, semuanya jadi ngga maksimal dan amburadul.
Makanya, seperti yang ka Sidney bilang, kita perlu menyempitkan fokus kita. Waktu kita fokus, segala sesuatunya bisa jadi make sense, dan dengan begitu kita bisa nyelesain semuanya itu dengan maksimal.
The key of concentration is elimination. Maksudnya, supaya kita bisa konsen sama hidup kita, ‘cut’ hal-hal yang ngga penting dari hidup kita. Jangan campur aduk semuanya. Mulai pisahin, mana yang penting dan mana yang ngga penting buat sekarang. Fokus : tau bedanya antara yang darurat sama yang penting. Darurat belom tentu penting lohh…
Sebelom kamu mikirin soal pacaran dll, yang paling pertama mesti kamu pikirin tuh tujuan hidup. Kenapa? Yah kalo ngga tau tujuan hidup, hidup kamu bakal sia-sia dan ngga jadi apa-apa dong…
Tujuan hidup itu berkaitan erat sama talent yang kamu punya. Pernah denger ngga sih ada orang yang “born to be a musician” atau “born to be a pastor”. Siapa kita dan apa yang kita lakukan di masa depan itu berkaitan sama talent kita.
Temuin bakat kamu! What do you do best? What flows naturally from you?
Kalo udah nemuin make a deliberate choice on it! Fokus untuk ngejalanin dan kembangin talent kamu. Mulai singkirin deh hal-hal yang akan mengganggu fokus kamu. Yohanes 15:1-8 mengajar kita untuk membedakan,apakah hal yang kita lakukan tuh menyaingi ato menyupport tujuan hidup kita.
So, focus people! You will be amazed by what God can do to you when you live your maximally!

Fiuh… finally proyek kami selesai juga hehehe,
sebenernya rada asal nih ngerjainnya, waktunya cepet banget
1jam harus uda beres 3lagu… jadi bener2 ngebut dan ga ada kesempatan ulang2 terus
banyak yg ga sempet edit, tapi lumayanlah dengan bantuan Tuhan semua lancar,
cuma memang ada kekurangan di vokal dan sound, waktu si yg paling kurang hehehe,
tapi puji Tuhan 3lagu uda beres dan kami dapet mukjizat loh… salah satu lagu kami akan dimixing oleh Pak Arvid Gunardi dari True Worshippers. Beliau adalah bassist TW sekaligus pemilik dari studio rekaman dan rehearsal THE JOINT STUDIO (www.thejointstudio.com), thanks God kami bener2 dapet anugrah kalo om arvid yg akan turun tangan langsung dan kami dapet harga yg VERY SPECIAL, bahkan bisa dibilang SANGAT AMAT SPESIAL… tapi ga buat publik, kalian bisa nego sendiri kalo mau hehehe… yg jelas Om Arvid ngebantu banyak banget dahh! thanks a lot BRO! oh iya lagu kami yg belum dimixing juga sudah kami upload di www.kidung.com, kalian bisa sama2 liat lagu kami disana langsung aja klik link-nya dan dengar… kualitas non-mixing tapinya… hehehe… ok akhir kata thanks a lot guys buat bantuan doanya. hi bros n sis! pa kabar nih semuanya??! hehe
uda lama banget kami(impact) belum buat blog lagi yah…

ok! ga usa basa-basi langsung aja aku minta dukungan doa dari kalian semua karena kami akan melakukan live recording pertama kami di salah satu studio di kelapa gading. oh ya kami juga masih belum mendapatkan kesempatan utk Track Rec. karena kesibukan masing2 dan lain hal, terus doakan juga utk hal ini. ^^

we are really glad that our project is juz to begin…
so many choice of songs that we are going to record but we have only chose the 4 of plenty songs that we had made for our first record…

Saya akan coba membagikan beberapa hal tentang memimpin penyembahan.
hari ini saya ingin share 3 point sederhana yg perlu diperhatikan para worship leaders atau yg biasa saya sebut lead worshippers agar kamu2 atau mereka semua(worship leaders) ga terjebak…

1. TOO BUSY
seringkali kita sebagai pemimpin pujian menjadi orang2 yg terlalu sibuk untuk menari, bersorak dan ‘heboh sendiri’ tanpa memperhatikan integritas dan hati yg menyembah. hal yg terpenting sesungguhnya adalah menaikkan luapan hati yg tulus.

2. LIFE OF WORSHIP
hmm… hal kedua yg sering jadi masalah adalah kepentingan/konsep yg salah dalam memimpin. sering banget kita melihat respon jemaat menjadi tolok ukur seberapa sukses kita dalam memimpin penyembahan mereka. padahal! yg paling penting dari sebuah praise & worship adalah ada gak sih kehidupan penyembahan(LIFE OF WORSHIP) disana??? yg baru ditandai dengan jemaat yg mengangkat tangan dan menaikkan hati mereka secara tulus…

3. CHURCH RESPONSE
hal terakhir adalah betapa pentingnya respon jemaat? emang keren sih kalau liat mereka menangis, bersorak, melompat, berlutut dan hal2 hebat lainnya yg ‘menurut kita baik‘ bukan ‘menurut Tuhan baik‘. nah sekarang kita harus ganti konsep pikir kita, hal yg harus dipikirin selain LIFE OF WORSHIP no.2 adalah bagaimana menghadirkan aspek utk jemaat seberapa megahnya Tuhan kita Yesus Kristus. praktekan dari hal2 yg sederhana misalnya: memilih lagu yg dipenuhi dengan Yesus. agar mereka semua sadar betapa pentingnya Tuhan dan seluruh anugerah besar yg sudah dia berikan kpd. kita semua… SIAPA SIH KITA TANPA DIA?!

ya hal terakhir yg jg penting adalah jaga terus hubunganmu dgn Tuhan n everything’ll be fine! don’t forget to pray!

Have the Right Circle of Friends: to
encourage you, support you and build
your life.
Humbleness: I want you to think about
John the Baptist, because everyone was
coming to John the Baptist, too,
saying, ‘You’re it, man. We’re
following you. You’re the man.’ I want
you to think all day long when people
come up to you and the flashes keep
flashing that He (Jesus) must become
greater, and I must become less.
Because that was John’s heart.”

Humility=strength + courage under
control

Make men before you make music. He was
talking about my band with me. He said,
“It’s more important to leave a legacy
in these men than to leave a legacy
with your music.” “Because you’ll
never lead the masses, if you can’t
lead the people closest to you.”
Anything you can do like that for some
music person who gets wrapped up in the
music and thinks it’s all about the
music, is helpful. Just to remind them
that it’s way beyond the music.
Be a lead worshipper. Just feel that in
yourself. We use the worship leader
title, but lead worshipper is such a
better word; it puts it more in
perspective. It says, I’m just a
worshiper, too, but for whatever
reason, God has let me lead for this
time. So lead people.
Just love your people. Being vulnerable
before people is so amazing, because
your church is full of different kinds
of people. Who knows what their lives
are like? Who knows what kind of state
their lives are in? You look out and
some are getting it, some aren’t. Just
love them. Don’t try to take people
from A to Z, take them from A to B, B
to C, C to D, one step at a time. I
think that’s what great leaders do.
Sometimes we say, “God, am I really
connecting to you?” But know that God
has placed you in leadership to help
people connect as well, so don’t feel
bad that you’re trying to help people
connect, because in that process you’re
really pleasing the heart of God.
You’re helping people connect to Him. I
know the logistics are a big deal, but
don’t get so distracted and feel that
it’s all on you.

Know that the Holy Spirit is the
ultimate lead worshipper, so let that
take some of the weight off your
shoulders.

hi guys…
ini curhat kami dari management impact_band. dari beberapa kali -impact- rehearsal, kami sangat bersyukur kalau banyak sekali lagu2 baru yg Tuhan berikan utk kami kembali memuliakan Dia melalui lagu2 baru ini, banyak sekali lagu2 beraliran easy listening praise&worship yg memberkati kami, yg selalu ikut kami rehearsal juga thanks God ikut menikmati lagu2 kami dan kayanya uda mulai hafal yah? hehehe, alright pokoknya like u guys all know kalo kita mau recording bulan july ini dan masih bingung lagu mana yg kita mau record, karena dari 5 lagu favorit kami, kami sementara cuma mau record 2 dulu and we are really desperate for this project… kita bener2 bingung pilih yg mana, karna setiap kali uda mantep arangement and else ada aja tiba2 lagu2 baru yg Tuhan kasih dan kasih lagi, terakhir malah ada lagu POP yg kami create, hehe lagu fav gitaris -impact- ye? HAHAHA! we are really thanks 4 that tapi sekaligus bingung jg, ok pokoknya doain aja walaupun saya ketik curhat ini muter2 tapi kalian ngerti kan hehehe… ok pls pray, we are nothing without prayer! thanks all. yes it is! today… we just born to the world officially! yeah! walaupun profile impact sudah ready dari beberapa hari lalu tapi sesungguhnya IMPACT_BAND secara resmi baru lahir pada hari ini. 23 Mei ‘07.
kami semua akan berusaha semampu kami untuk menjadi dampak bagi anak2 muda zaman sekarang untuk lebih lagi ‘ONFIRE’ dalam menyembah Tuhan melalui musik dan hidup mereka.
ayo tetep dukung kami yup dalam doa kalian! thanks, GBU.
